New Balance Numeric - 480 "Eighties" Pack

New Balance Numeric - 480 "Eighties" Pack

Take a closer look at the freshly re-mixed 480 "Eighties" pack from Numeric.

New Balance Numeric take inspiration for their new 480 "Eighties" pack from the golden age of 1980's NBA rivalry, with two NM480 silhouettes, one dressed in LA Lakers and the other in Boston Celtics colours. Introduced back in 1983 as the first New Balance b-ball trainer, the 480 became a court favourite for players including NBA All-Star, and Lakers legend James Worthy, as well as Celtics own M.L Carr, and Bill Russell. These two iconic teams have built up one of the biggest rivalries in world sport over the past 70 years, since their first meeting in 1959. So what better story to tell with this classic court shoe, paying homage to these NBA greats at the same time.

The NM480 silhouette was brought back from the New Balance archives, and welcomed into the Numeric collection. Since then the 480 has quickly become a favourite shoe for many skaters and top seller for NB, with its classic court design re-mixed to stand-up to the demands of a high performance skate shoe. With the use of FuelCell foam and C-Cap midsole for improved comfort and impact resistance, in addition to NDurance rubber outsoles for added grip and control. The Forest Green/White iteration is constructed from premium pig suede, and the White/Purple 480 made from leather, with a tumbled suede N-logo on the side panel and heel collar. Take a close look at both of these iconic colouways below.
