As Nike SB continue to celebrate their 20th year in existence, we wanted to do something to mark this achievement and take a look back over the past two decades of the Swoosh in skateboarding. Bored of Southsea is proud to have one of the oldest Nike SB accounts in the UK, and over the years we've managed to accumulate a fair amount of SB paraphernalia. So, along with the help of a few collector friends of the store, we were able to dig in to the vaults and came out with enough SB gems to put on a three-day pop-up display of rare, classic and worn SB Dunks and other memorable SB silhouettes and knick-knacks. Although much of the emphasis was on the mouth-watering number of rare Dunks, we also wanted to showcase some of forgotten favourites in the display. With silhouettes including P-Rod's 1,2,3 & more, Zoom Tre A.D, Air Trainer 1, Project BA, Zoom Omar Salazar, Air Classic, Zoom FC, Koston One x Air Max 90, Kobe x Koston and of course Stefan Janoski shoes, all making an appearance in there.
In addition to the dozens of rare Dunks, there were also rare merch collectables, such as Medicom Bears, ABD What The P-Rod NFT cards and OG Nike SB apparel on display, as well as limited artwork from old SB tours that visited Southsea and the store. To accompany the sneaker display and window installation there was a rolling playlist of Nike SB skate videos, edits and averts that spanned over the years. We had a lot of fun putting it all together, and it's not often that such a large collection of some of the rarest SB Dunks is shown together in one place, so hopefully everyone that came by to have a look enjoyed it. A huge thank you to the very kind and trusting people that let us borrow from your beloved shoe collections, we couldn't have told the story of SB and it's journey without your help and input.
