Since the 80s, Stussy have always had some of the most memorable and iconic advertising in skate and surf culture, as well as synonymous with the birth of streetwear and urban fashion. Owner and visionary Shawn Stüssy established the brand's aesthetic from the start with it photo collage punk rock feel but even when the company grew considerably they never went to agencies or consultants, preferring to keep things in-house with each creative director at the time leading the vision and hand-picking the photographers and artists to collaborate with personally. And this is one of the main reasons Stussy has always retained the feel of heritage and legitimacy.

And over the years there's been many notable creative figures involved in their ad campaigns, with the likes of Juergen Teller, Terry Richardson, Robbie Jeffers, Ron Leighton, Kenneth Capello, Phil Knott and even ``Shawn Stüssy himself shot the campaigns between 1987 and 1989.
