We're really stoked on these new Bored of Southsea Onamura Tiger Decks, which are available in a wide assortment of colours and sizes. The new design even comes in an 8.5" Poolmaster shape which rocks a nice flat nose and, for all you non popsicle shape riders out there. Or anyone looking to try something a little jazzier. Our new decks are constructed from 7-Ply maple wood and made in Mexico by ASF Wood, which is used by such skate brands as Freedome, Pizza, RIPNDIP, Skate Mental, Tired, Traffic and Zero to name a few.
After smashing it with the recent Tiger Emporium design, our man David Millard stayed on the big cat theme and came through with the Onamura Tiger design, which features a stylised Tiger climbing through the "O" of Bored, written in an art nouveau font. If you look closely you can see the colour of the different bottom plys, as they pop though the Bored text to reveal the colour below. The graphic is also available on a choice of t-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts, so you can still get involved even if you don't skate.
To complete the production process we turned to the brilliant Tommy Fachiriat, owner of Back & Forth Print based near Bournemouth. Tommy is a one time deciple of master screen printer and U.K skate legend Don Brider, although now a very accomplished printer in his own rights. We took the opportunity to take a few photos of the Back and Forth studios when we went down there, and Tommy was kind enough to let us look around. It was also nice to see a few of our Southsea Bronx and others making apppearences in his studio here and there So take a look below at the Onamura Tiger Decks in all shapes and sizes, as well as the Back and Forth Studio they were made in.
