Carhartt WIP has just launched it's new monthly podcast series Relevant Parties, which focuses on groundbreaking record labels and the stories behind them. Over the course of six episodes music journalist Chal Ravens will take a look in to the past, present and future of some of the worlds most creative and influential labels. Featuring the likes of Ninja Tune, Jazzy Sport from Tokyo, DFA Records, NYC's Ghostly International, Public Possession from Munich and L.A tastemakers Stones Throw.
These institutions and the people behind them have not only helped to create scenes and subcultures, but also built their own unique worlds for us to discover. Not to mention the roles they play supporting artists and building their careers, which is all done for the love of the music and desire to share their vision.
The first four episodes are available to listen to now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Deezer. In addition to this each episode will be accompanied by a unique Spotify playlist, which highlights a selection of essential tracks from the various labels
To accompany the series Carhartt WIP have produced the Relevant Parties Vol. 1 capsule collection in conjunction with the labels, which offers a range of hoodies, sweatshirts and t-shirts featuring co-branded logos and label artwork.
The Carhartt WIP Relevant Parties Vol. 1 collection is available now, and be sure to check out the podcast series and corresponding playlists. They're a great listening for any lockdown. The second series of Relevant Parties is due for release early 2021.
