For last week's international Go Skateboarding Day, we just thought if it ain't broke, then don't fix it. So decided to have a skate jam at our local, Milton skatepark. Our good friends at Keen Dist and New Balance Numeric were kind enough to support the day with a whole bunch of rad prizes and giveaways from the likes of PASSPORT Skateboards, Skate Cafe, Polar Skate Co, Pitt St Skatepark and of course New Balance Numeric shoes. Go Skateboarding Day was established back in 2004, with the aim of helping to make skateboarding more accessible through the hundreds of events put on around the world each year on the 21st June, and what better day to have it than the longest of the year.

The jam kicked off officially at 4pm, but the park was already busy with skaters enjoying the good weather before we'd even turned up. Besides all the general skateboarding fun, we ran mini-comps for the best tricks on different obstacles, including the T-Block and over the driveway. As well as the obligatory game of S.K.A.T.E tournament and highjump contest, then finished off with a barbecue and skating 'til the sun went down. A big thank you to everyone who came down to skate or just hang out, and made the day such a success. Despite the heat and relaxed vibes, some seriously heavy skating went down, and those that won the prizes were all well deserved. And a shout out to the landlord of the nearby Milton Arms, who was kind enough to hook us up with power for the sound system.
