Nike SB are just about to release another high profile collaboration dunk shoe, this time teaming up with pro rider Ishod Wair and British born designer and Porsche enthusiast Magnus Walker. The unlikely pairing first connected through their shared passion for classic Porsche sports cars, and the resulting collab is a real classic itself, styled in the likeness of Walkers own favourite 1971 Porsche 911 T 277. Combine this with Ishod's long time connection to the Dunk which really just makes this a match made in heaven, as well as a seriously good shoe.
Magnus Walker originally from England moved to the US in the late 80's where he started out selling secondhand clothing on the Venice Beach boardwalk, later establishing his own fashion label "Serious". Off the back of the brands success he was able to fulfill his childhood dream of owning a 911, which subsequentially escalated in to a major collection and also gaining worldwide attention for his unique Porsche custom restorations that he creates in his huge industrial workspace in downtown L.A's art district.
The Ishod Wair x Magnus Walker x Nike SB Dunk High shoe itself has is constructed from a mix of multi-textured leather, suede and canvas, all coming with an aged and worn appearance. From the cracked off-white leather to the faded red canvas on the toe box, this shoe is made to age and even reveals a hidden gold layer benieth the white when worn away. This is another feature of Walker's beloved 277 which was originally Gold before it's custom job. Other feaures include Nike spelt in the Porsche font on the midsole, a small Urban Outlaw logo on the lateral side panel, a non-padded deconstructed canvas ankle, a tri-coloured rubber outsole and signed off with the "277" printed on the heel panel.
