Kicking things of the right way, our first drop of shoes for the year from New Balance Numeric has landed, delivering us a whole bunch of fresh colourways in everyones favourite NB signature skate shoe silhouettes from the likes of Tom Knox, Jamie Foy, Tiago Lemos and Brandon Westgate. New Balance's popularity in the skate world has been growing steadily for a good while now but last year was a big step up for Numeric coming off the back of big hits like the #NM1010 Tiago shoe, the #NM440 and #NM440 Hi Tom Knox Shoes and Jamie Foys #NM306 just to name a few. Whether it's a subtle slimmmed down vulc shoe or a beefed up tech filled shoe these guys have delivered some clean looking silhouettes in great colours.
With out doubt one of the most popular skate shoes around right now is the New Balance Numeric 1010 Tiago shoe, with it's heavily 90's influenced look and packed with more tech than any other skate shoe in the Numeric line. The upper is constructed with a mix of suede and mesh panels, then reinforced with triple stiching for added strength and durability. The upper sits on New Balance's pioneering N-Durance rubber outsole which works in conjunction with the duel density FuelCell midsole and Ortholite insole to provide optimum support and comfort without compromising on board feel. We think these are gonna continue to be a big favourite with skaters again this year and quite rightly some, it's definately one of the best looking and inovative skate shoes on the market today. And if that's not enough to make you want a pair just watch some footage of Tiago Lemos himself skating in a pair and guarantee it'll change your mind.
Another big favourite in the Numeric line has been the pro shoe from 2017's Thrasher S.O.T.Y winner Jamie Foy, with his New Balance Numeric 306 vulcanised skate shoe and it's modern take on a classic vulc shoe. First released back in 2019 this shoe was designed to meet the needs and demands of Big Boy Foy himself, creating a shoe that can handle skating rails and stairs but still retains maximum grip and feel. The low profile silhouette is made from suede panels with breathable mesh underlays, and featuring NB's signature EVA Abzorb insole for optimal impact protection and N-Durance compound rubber outsole for maximum grip board feel. We're big fans of the black colourway featuring a white "N" logo with green and red pops of colour giving them a "Gucci" colour palette.
The UK's very own Tom Knox was rewarded for his incredible skating with both low and high top releases of his hit signature Numeric NM440 Hi Tom Knox shoe, which along with the Blazer and Sk8 Hi is one of the hottest high tops for skaters at the moment. This remix see's a sleek black suede and mesh upper contrasted with a popping white stitching throughout. Constucted with a super lightweight cupsole, N-Durance rubber outsole and C-Cap internal heel wedge which combine to provide support, comfort and duribility to a hardwaring hi-top skate shoe.
We're also big fans of the New Balance Numeric 508 Brandon Westgate shoe in this seasons Navy and Grey, which is another cupsole that balances hardwaring and duribility with style and great boardfeel. The upper is constructed with a hardwaring suede, perforated reinforced toebox, a C-Cap midsole and Abzorb insoles which make it the kind of shoe you can skate in all day and wont destroy your feet. The shoe is then signed off with NM508 labelling, a metal top eyestay, unfinished foam tongue and reflective heel panel.
In addition to the big hitting signature shoes Numeric have also released understated classic team silhouettes like the New Balance Numeric NM22 in white premium leather, with it's super clean low profile design and simple styling reminiscent of a 70's court shoe constructed with a retro t-toe and tun seam stitching. The Abzorb insole comes as a NB Numeric staple and the vulcanised outsole made with N-Durance rubber provides added grip, so you're ready to react to whatever skateboarding throws at you.
