Last week saw the world premiere of the much antisipated, new full length video from Pontus Alv and Polar Skate Co. The tongue in cheek yet aptly named "Sounds Like You Guys Are Crushing It" is the first we've seen from the whole team since 2018's epic "We Blew It At Some Point". The great and good of U.K skateboarding assembled at the newly restored Stockwell skatepark for a bit of a jam to get everyone hyped up for the video later. After that everyone headed up the road to the Ritzy Cinema in Brixton, and despite huge queues they managed to herd most of us all in to enjoy the video. Moment of the night came when Jamie Platt was turned pro in the middle of his part, with the surpise halting the showing until it all settled down and the video could resume. Everyone that had a part, or made an appearance killed it. From Nick Boserio's full throttle insanity, to Hjalte's powerful ledge-tech, the new Polar video struck a perfect balance between feeling like an old classic skate video, but filled with some of the most creative, young skaters on the planet today destroying everything infront of them. And as with all the best skate videos, this makes you wanna get staight out there and skate, so as soon as "Sounds Like You Guys Are Crushing It" goes live be sure to put 45 mins aside to watch it in full, and then go out skateboarding.
It's been a few years since any large skate industry events have been put on, so it was fantastic to see all the guys from the likes of Note, Welcome, Fifty Fifty, Decimal and many more UK skate shops that made it out for the day. A big thank you to Mike, Andy and the rest of the Keen Dist crew, and of course Pontus Alv.
