Polar Skate Co have teamed up with New York based artist Jack Greer, better known as Iggy to produced this limited collab collection of cut & sew and hardware. L.A born skater and artist Greer first came to recognition as part of the then Manhattan based Still House Group art collective, where he became known for his art installations, collages and film making. This led to him being asked to work with companies such as Nike and Opening Ceremony where he stitched and embroidered his designs on jackets and other custom pieces.
In 2016 he established his clothing line Iggy NYC, naming the brand after his miniature husky dog of the same name. The line mostly consists of his tongue in cheek eye-catching graphics and artwork featured on tee's, hoodies and sweats. So we're stoked to offer this collection in conjunction with Polar Skate Co, which consists of heavily all-over printed surf pants, short sleeved shirts and front print graphic t-shirts.
The Polar x Iggy Alternative Youth Shirt in Black and Polar x Iggy Alternative Youth Surf Pants in White are both covered with an edgy pierced tongue photo all-over repeat print, clearly taking influence from 1980's skate punk but still keeping a contemporary feel with the silhouettes and fit. Both pieces have a loose cut and are worn best slightly over-sized for added steeze. The Polar x Iggy Alternative Youth Tee in Aquamarine also features the same graphic but only on a single front print, if the all-over print is a bit too much of a commitment for you. And to complete the line there is also collab decks in the form of the Polar x Iggy Boys on the Ramp Deck in 8.25" and 8.5".
The Polar x Iggy capsule collection is available at 07:00am Friday 9th August 2019.
