Read and Destroy Book - Skateboarding Through a British Lens '78 - '95

Check out the ultimate compendium of eighties & early nineties skateboarding in the UK.

Take a closer look at this stunning, new coffee table book - Read and Destroy Book - Skateboarding Through a British Lens '78 - '95. A must-have chronicle of UK skateboarding, from the archives of its most iconic publication.

Between the late seventies and early nineties in the UK, R.A.D Magazine, or Read and Destroy was practically the only visual reference for British skateboarders. The magazine began life as BMX Action Bike but quickly moved on to an all-skateboarding format that covered every aspect of the UK scene, competitions, news, interviews, and trick tips. R.A.D documented first-hand the journey of skateboarding in this country, as it went from ditches and pools to halfpipes and mini-ramps, and the evolution of street skating.

The magazine's publishers were sold in the early nineties bringing an end to R.A.D Magazine, but that hasn't diminished its impact on British skateboarding. Although the publication could be found next to major publications in the newsagents, R.A.D still had an anarchic feel to it, with its use of punk zine-style graphics, mixed with the iconic photography of Editor-in-Chief Tim Leighton-Boyce, as well as contributions from Vernon Adams (AKA Jay Podesta), Wig Worland, Mike John, and Paul Sunman to name a few.
This incredible book has been a long time in the making, so don't miss your opportunity to own a copy.
