Santa Cruz Skateboards are one of the worlds oldest and best known skateboard companies, producing legendary pro's, board graphics and skate videos for over forty years. Founded in 1973 by Richard Novac, Doug Haut and Jay Shuirman who started producing skateboard hardware in California and named the company after it's birth place.

They later employed artist Jim Philips who produced many of their most famous graphics, such as the "Screaming Hand" logo as well as many many more. Santa Cruz has also seen more than it's fair share of icons on the team, such as Steve Alba, Jeff Grosso, Steve Olson, Eric Dressen, Tom Knox, Jason Jesse, Christian Hosoi and Rob Roskopp. Many of these rippers featured in classic early skate videos such as Speed Freaks, Streets on Fire, Risk It and Wheels of Fire. And still going today as strong as ever with young bucks like Eric Winkowski, Tom Asta, Blake Johnson, Tom Remillard and Emmanual Guzman leading the way for them
